ABOUT AUTOMATION HISTORY
Connecting Technology’s Past and Present
Automation History documents the people, machines and ideas that helped shape technological progress—from early mechanical systems and industrial machinery to modern robotics, control systems and artificial intelligence.
The project is founded by Andrew Miller, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, automation professional, supervisor, independent researcher and author. His hands-on experience in industrial automation informs a practical interest in how today’s systems work and the earlier innovations that made them possible.
Our approach: preserve the historical record, explain the engineering, and show how ideas connect across generations.
