I’m Andrew Miller. The reading is free, and each page stays with one machine. I check it against the patents and the books before it goes up. A book sale or a donation pays for hosting, illustrations, and time to check the next patent. That is how the history grows: one more page, written with the same care.
You do not have to give anything to keep reading.

Please read this. Automation History LLC is a for-profit company, not a charity. A donation here is not a tax-deductible gift. The IRS says a deductible contribution generally has to go to a qualified organization. If you need to know how that applies to you, ask a tax preparer.

Is this a charity?
No. Automation History LLC is a for-profit company. It is not a tax-exempt charity.
Can I deduct the gift on my taxes?
Do not treat it as a charitable deduction. Those generally go to a qualified organization. Ask a tax preparer if you are unsure.
Do I get a book?
No. A donation is not a purchase. If you want a book, use the store.
Can I name the page my money goes to?
No. The gift supports the work as a whole. I still choose the next machine, and the record still decides what the page can say.
Can I help without paying?
Yes. Read a page, send it to someone, or tell me if a citation is broken.
